Use the exact server assigned to the specific trading account. Find it in the Client Portal or the account-creation confirmation. Do not choose a server only because it says Live or Demo, and do not copy the server from another account.
All MT5 Live Accounts connect to FXTRADING.com-Live. Use the server name exactly as written and do not translate it.
Before signing in
Confirm all four items for the same trading account:
MT4 or MT5;
the trading account number;
the exact assigned server; and
whether you are using the trading/master password or the investor/read-only password.
An MT4 account cannot connect through MT5, and an MT5 account cannot connect through MT4. An investor/read-only password can connect for viewing but cannot place or change trades.
Connect on MT4 or MT5 desktop
Open the matching platform and select File → Login to Trade Account. You can also use the current account under Navigator → Accounts if it is already listed.
Enter the trading account number.
Enter the trading/master password for trading access, or the investor/read-only password for view-only access.
Select or enter the exact server assigned to that account.
Confirm the connection, then verify the account number and server shown in the platform.
Connect on the MT4 or MT5 mobile app
Open Accounts or Manage Accounts in the official MetaTrader app.
Choose New Account or the add-account control, then select Login to an existing account.
Search for the exact assigned server. Server search may require several characters before results appear.
Select that server and enter the trading account number and the intended password type.
Sign in and verify that the current account and server are correct.
Menu names can differ by MT4 or MT5 version, iOS or Android version, and server configuration. Use the account and server details shown by FXTRADING.com rather than a similar-looking result.
Confirm the correct connection
The intended account number and assigned server are shown.
Quotes update for instruments available to that account when their market is open.
Balance, positions and history belong to the intended account.
If investor/read-only access was used, viewing is available but trading controls remain unavailable.
If login or account information is wrong
Invalid Account or authorization failed: check the platform, account number, password type and exact server. Do not keep retrying a password that may be wrong.
Server not found: copy the exact assigned server, confirm MT4 versus MT5, update the app, restart it and try a trusted network.
Wrong balance, positions or history: stop and verify the account number and server. Do not trade until the intended account is confirmed.
Account missing from the Client Portal: do not infer maintenance or dormancy from the platform display alone; follow the missing-account support route.
Never send a trading password, investor/read-only password or verification code through chat, email or a support ticket. If the trading password is forgotten, use the password-reset action for that account in the Client Portal.
