Use the FXTRADING.com Download Center as the starting point. It directs you to the version or official store entry currently approved for your device. Do not install MetaTrader from an advertisement, message attachment or unverified download site.
Expert Advisors (EAs) cannot be installed or run in FXTRADING.com App.
Before downloading or reinstalling
Confirm whether the trading account uses MT4 or MT5.
Record the trading account number and exact assigned server from the Client Portal.
Make sure you can access the trading/master password without sending it to anyone.
If you use custom Expert Advisors, indicators, scripts, templates or profiles on desktop, back up the required files and settings. Local platform files may not be restored automatically.
Download and install
Sign in to the Client Portal.
From the left navigation, select Service Hub.
Open Download Center.
Choose the required MT4 or MT5 version and the correct operating system or device.
Follow the Download Center link and the installation instructions shown by your device.
Open the installed platform and connect with the matching account number, exact assigned server and intended password type.
For Windows desktop installation, open the approved installer and follow its wizard. MT4 lets you choose the installation folder; MT5 provides installation options for the folder and program group. The MT5 web installer needs an internet connection to download its components. Use the normal release offered through the Download Center. Installing over an existing platform can replace default profiles, templates and bundled programs, so keep backups of custom files rather than relying on every local file being preserved.
Installing on macOS
In Download Center, choose macOS for the required MT4 or MT5. Do not use the Windows installer on Mac.
Open the downloaded file and follow its installation wizard. The macOS installer prepares Wine and installs MetaTrader inside that environment; allow both stages to finish.
If the approved installer prompts for Wine components such as Mono or Gecko, follow that installer's instructions. Do not obtain replacement packages from an unverified source.
After installation, open the required MT4 or MT5 and connect with the matching account and exact assigned server described above.
Before replacing an older Mac installation, back up the templates, profiles, Expert Advisors and indicators you need. Removing its Wine environment can remove local platform files. Reconnecting to the trading account does not restore those files. Do not assume Windows folder paths or uninstall options apply on macOS.
Update the platform
MT4 and MT5 desktop check for updates when connecting to a trading server and download available components in the background. In MT4, restart the platform after the update download has finished; progress is recorded in the platform log. In MT5, the update prompt offers “Restart”, which closes the platform and any open MetaEditor, applies the update and starts the platform again. “Later” postpones installation until the next platform start. Save local work first and allow time for the update and reconnection.
Install an update when the platform, Download Center or official app store prompts you to do so.
Close active dialogs and save any local work before applying a desktop update.
Do not disable antivirus, device security or operating-system protections merely to force an installation.
After updating, confirm the platform build opens, the intended account/server is connected and quotes are updating when the market is open.
Reinstall only after preserving access
If the MT5 Windows uninstaller offers “Delete user personal data”, leave it unselected when reinstalling and intending to retain local data. Selecting it removes platform settings, instrument history, messages and local MQL5 programs, and that deletion cannot be undone through the platform. Reinstalling in the same directory can restore retained settings when this option was not selected, but it does not replace a separate backup of the files you need. Do not assume other operating systems use the same uninstall options.
Record the platform, account number and exact assigned server, and back up any required local files.
Confirm that the current trading password is available. A saved password may be removed during reinstall.
Use the normal uninstall control for the operating system or device.
Return to the Client Portal Download Center and install the approved version again.
Reconnect to the intended account and restore only trusted local files that are compatible with that platform version.
MT4 or MT5 on iOS and Android
Use the Download Center route to the currently approved app or official store listing. Store availability, publisher details and menu names can change by region and device. All four account types allow a choice of MT4 or MT5. Both live and demo MT4/MT5 accounts support trading directly through Web Trader and FXTRADING.com App. In the standalone MetaTrader app, sign in to MT4 with an MT4 account, or to MT5 with an MT5 account.
Web Trader as a temporary access option
If Web Trader is displayed for the account, it can avoid a local installation. It is not identical to the desktop or mobile platform, and functions such as desktop Expert Advisors or local files may be unavailable.
If download, installation or update fails
Record the device, operating system, platform, source page and exact error.
Check available storage, restart the device and retry from the Download Center on a trusted network.
Do not use an unverified installer or remove security controls to bypass an error.
If the problem continues, use Client Portal → Service Hub → Create Ticket → FXTRADING.com Platforms → MetaTrader platforms. Hide unrelated information in screenshots and never include a password or verification code.
