Can I receive trade alerts on MT5?

Set up MT5 desktop alerts and send push notifications to the MetaTrader 5 mobile app using your MetaQuotes ID.

Yes. MT5 desktop can create market alerts and send push notifications to the MetaTrader 5 mobile app. This is separate from the FXTRADING.com App; installing that app or using the same trading account does not configure MT5 push delivery.

For official downloads, sign in to the Client Portal and open Service Hub → Download Center. Select the MetaTrader 5 version for your device.

Create an alert in MT5 desktop

  1. Open View → Toolbox (Ctrl+T), then select Alerts.

  2. Right-click in the Alerts tab and choose Create, or press Insert. Set an available price or time condition and the required action, such as Sound, Email or Notification.

  3. Configure the selected action, then click OK. Email alerts also require email settings. Keep the desktop terminal running for locally generated alerts.

Choose conditions and repetition settings

In the alert editor, check these settings before saving:

  1. Check the complete Symbol. Under Condition, choose Bid <, Bid >, Ask < or Ask > and enter the threshold in Value. These mean below or above, rather than equality.

  2. For Time =, enter your computer's local time in HH:MM format. Expiration also uses local computer time and determines when the alert is automatically deleted. Do not substitute trading-server time.

  3. Select the Action. In Source, choose the sound file or enter the notification text as appropriate. For Email, configure the mailbox settings and message template.

  4. Set Timeout between repetitions and Maximum iterations for the repeat limit. Select Enable; disabling an alert retains it but stops it from triggering.

  5. Use Test to check the action, then OK to save. A chart-created alert has an automatic expiry: review its condition and expiration rather than assuming it remains active indefinitely.

Receive push notifications on mobile

  1. Install MetaTrader 5 on your phone, allow its notifications and find your MetaQuotes ID in Messages.

  2. In MT5 desktop, open Tools → Options → Notifications. Enable push notifications, enter that MetaQuotes ID and use Test to check delivery.

  3. For a market alert sent to your phone, select Notification as its action. Notification settings for trade transactions are separate; server-side availability depends on the broker.

These are MetaTrader 5 instructions. They do not describe an Alerts bell in the FXTRADING.com App. Menu names may differ with the MetaTrader interface language.

If a notification does not arrive

Check that the MetaQuotes ID entered on desktop matches the ID currently shown in MetaTrader 5 on the intended phone. Check the phone's internet connection and notification permissions for MetaTrader 5. If you reinstalled the mobile app or changed devices, recheck the ID rather than assuming the previous setting still applies.

A successful test confirms delivery through the tested setup at that time; it does not prove that every future alert condition will be met. For a locally generated market alert, the desktop terminal must remain running, the condition must be reached and the action must be set to send a notification. Check the desktop records if the test works but the market alert does not.

Local trade-transaction notifications are separate from market alerts and cover successful operations; they do not notify every rejected request. Use the terminal's transaction and log records to investigate a failed order. Trade-server notifications can operate without the desktop terminal running only if that option is available for the exact account and broker configuration. Do not assume FXTRADING.com App notifications use these MT5 settings.
