How do I place and manage orders in FXTRADING.com Web Trader?

Use the current Web Trader order ticket to place, review, modify and close orders while checking the exact account, symbol and current Information values.

This guide explains current Web Trader controls. It does not recommend whether, when, what or how much to trade and does not guarantee acceptance, execution price or outcome.

Before sending an order

  • Use Change account and verify the account number, MT4 or MT5 platform, and Live or Demo environment.

  • Select the complete symbol and open Information to check the current trade size, sessions, status and other displayed conditions.

  • Confirm available Free Margin and trading access; an investor/read-only account cannot trade.

Place a market or pending order

The button names quoted below refer to the English interface. Use the corresponding controls displayed in your selected interface language.

  1. Select the intended account and complete symbol, then review the displayed order panel. Choosing SELL or BUY sets the direction; the final confirmation sends the instruction.

  2. If Web Trader shows Market is closed or Account status: Read-only, stop and use the current message; do not try to bypass the state.

  3. Enter a volume within the current permitted range and increment displayed for the selected account and symbol. After leaving the volume field, check the displayed volume again, as the value may have changed. Use the displayed volume in your final review before sending the order.

  4. Choose SELL or BUY and confirm that the direction matches your intended instruction.

  5. For a pending order, turn on Pending and enter the trigger price shown as valid by the current ticket; otherwise leave Pending off for a market instruction.

  6. Turn on Take Profit or Stop Loss only if required, then enter values that satisfy the current direction-aware limits.

  7. Before selecting Confirm, review the account, complete symbol, direction, volume, displayed price and every enabled control.

Do not continue while the ticket shows an input error, even if Confirm is selectable. A selectable button does not establish that the size or price is valid or that the server will accept the order.

Open Pending and locate the exact order. To edit its price or stop values, select the pending-price value or Add / the current Take Profit or Stop Loss value. Review the displayed fields, select Modify Order, and verify the updated row. To request cancellation, select Delete in that row and review any confirmation. Check that the order is no longer in Pending before placing a replacement. If it remains or has moved to Open, use its current status and the support path below.

Confirm where the result is recorded

  • An accepted market position appears in Open.

  • An accepted pending order appears in Pending while it remains pending.

  • When the trigger condition is met, the pending order can become an open position and move to Open.

  • A completed exit is recorded in Closed; verify the recorded volume, prices and time rather than relying only on the confirmation.

In trade-history summaries that combine a position's opening and closing records, Buy/Sell refers to the original opening direction. A position opened as Buy (long) remains Buy after it is closed; a position opened as Sell (short) remains Sell.

Individual executions are different: closing a long position normally produces a Sell deal, and closing a short position normally produces a Buy deal. In an MT5 Deals view, read Buy/Sell together with whether the deal opens, closes or reverses a position. A closing Sell deal does not mean the original position was short.

Modify or close an open position

  1. In Open, first check whether positions are grouped by symbol. A Hedged summary row with Volume 0 may still contain offsetting open positions. Use the grouping icon (two overlapping rectangles beside Close All) to switch to separate position rows. Match the account, symbol, order ID and Buy/Sell direction, then select the relevant individual row. Changing this display does not close any position.

  2. Select Add or the current Take Profit or Stop Loss value to open the editor. Review the values and current limits, select Modify Order, then verify the updated row.

  3. Select Close on the exact position. Review the Close this order? message and select Ok only if you intend to close the full position.

  4. That Close confirmation has no volume field and closes the full position. For a partial close, select the position row in Open to open its details, then use the Partial Close section. In Volume to Close, enter the volume to close, not the volume to keep, within the displayed limits. Review the account, position and volume before selecting Close Order. After processing, check both the remaining volume in Open and the closing execution in Closed. If the partial-close controls are unavailable, do not use the full Close confirmation as a substitute.

  5. After processing, verify the remaining Open volume and the record under Closed.

Use Close All carefully

  • Close All can display filters for all, long, short, profitable or losing positions; unavailable groups are disabled when their count is zero.

  • Review the selected filter and every affected position before continuing, because the action can apply to more than one row.

In this dialog, Continue submits full-close instructions for the selected group. It does not offer a per-position volume field. Verify the remaining Open rows and the processed records in Closed.

If the result is unexpected

  • If the ticket is blocked, check the selected account, trading access and the current market-status message.

  • If volume is rejected, recheck the current minimum, maximum and increment for the exact account and complete symbol.

  • If Take Profit or Stop Loss is rejected, review the direction-aware limits currently shown in the ticket or Modify view.

  • If an instruction appears accepted but the expected row is missing, recheck the account, complete symbol and Open, Pending or Closed tab before submitting anything again.

  • If account data is stale, mixed with another account, unexpectedly zero or inconsistent, stop transactional steps and use the evidence and ticket path below.

Do not repeatedly submit the same instruction. Record the selected account platform/environment, complete symbol, intended action, exact error or status, date and time with time zone, and the affected order or position reference. Hide unrelated personal information in screenshots.

  • For account-specific investigation, use Client Portal → Service Hub → Create Ticket → FXTRADING.com Platforms → FXTRADING.com Web Terminal.

  • Never provide a password, one-time code, private key or recovery phrase.
