Trading Position Management

Follow platform-specific steps to close single, partial, or multiple positions, and understand how sequential bulk closures may affect execution prices.

There are multiple methods to close open positions depending on your trading platform of choice.

FXTRADING.com Trader

Closing a single position:

  1. Navigate to the Trade tab and locate your open positions in the Open tab

  2. Tap the position you wish to close, then select "Close order" or simply swipe left on the position and tap Close

  3. For multiple positions of the same instrument, swipe left on the instrument and tap Close all

  4. Tap Confirm to proceed with the closure

  5. A notification will confirm the successful closure of your position(s)

Partial position closure:

  1. In the Trade tab, find your open positions in the Open tab

  2. Tap the position you wish to partially close, then select the Partial Close tab

  3. Specify your desired closing volume and tap Close

  4. Tap Confirm to execute

  5. A notification will confirm the partial closure of your position

Closing multiple positions:

  1. In the Trade tab, access your open positions in the Open tab

  2. Tap Close all positions at the top of your open positions list

  3. Select from the following options:

    • Close all

    • Close all profitable

    • Close all losing

    • Close all Buy

    • Close all Sell

  4. Tap Continue to proceed

  5. A notification will confirm the number of positions closed and your resulting profit/loss

This bulk closure feature sends a single request to the server, which processes each position sequentially. This sequential processing may result in different execution prices for each position. After processing, check whether any selected positions remain open and review the actual closing records and execution prices. Submitting the request or receiving a completion message does not by itself confirm that every selected position has closed.

Web Trader

Closing multiple positions:

The button names quoted below refer to the English interface. Use the corresponding controls displayed in your selected interface language.

  1. In the Open area, select Close All.

  2. Choose from the available options:

    • Close All

    • Close All Long Positions

    • Close All Short Positions

    • Close All Profitable Positions

    • Close All Losing Positions

  3. Select Continue to proceed.

  4. After processing, check Open for any remaining positions and review the closing records under Closed for execution details and profit/loss. The completion message may only say Request completed.

This feature processes each position closure sequentially, which may result in different execution prices. After processing, check whether any selected positions remain open and review the actual closing records and execution prices. Submitting the request or receiving a completion message does not by itself confirm that every selected position has closed.
