FXTRADING.com does not currently provide a separate service that supplies clients with a centralised downloadable historical-price dataset for individual trading instruments.
What historical information may be available?
Your trading platform may display chart or price history made available for the connected account and server. The amount and format of history available can depend on the platform, account type, server, instrument and data feed.
This platform history is not the same as a broker-supplied centralised data file covering every account type or liquidity source.
Why is there no single central historical-data file?
Pricing can differ across account types and the liquidity providers connected to them. Server, spread, execution and feed differences mean that one central file may not accurately represent the prices available to every account.
Can I use the data for backtesting or external analysis?
You may use the history and export functions available in your own platform or obtain data from a third-party provider, subject to the applicable terms. Before relying on any dataset, confirm its instrument, server, timezone, price type, spread assumptions and coverage period.
Results produced with third-party or platform history may not match live FXTRADING.com execution and do not guarantee future performance.
Chart history, tick history and your trading history
Information | What it tells you |
Chart bars | Each bar summarises a period using its opening, highest, lowest and closing prices. It does not show every price update or every execution. |
Ticks | These are individual price updates, where available. A quote update is not proof that your order executed at that price. |
Account trading history | This records activity in your own trading account. Use it to check your transactions; it is not a complete market-price dataset. |
Viewing available history in MT4 desktop
Open Tools → History Center, or press F2.
Choose the instrument and timeframe. Check the dates and prices in the displayed records.
If Export is available, choose an output format and save the file to your computer.
Important: the History Center's Download command may retrieve MetaQuotes historical data that differs from your broker's trading-server history. Do not treat that download as an FXTRADING.com central dataset. Importing, editing or deleting records changes local history; keep an original copy before deliberately changing it.
Viewing available history in MT5 desktop
Open the Symbols dialog from the Market Watch context menu.
Select Bars for bar history or Ticks for individual price updates. Choose the instrument, timeframe where applicable.
Click Request to retrieve available server history. Review the returned period before using Export to save a CSV file.
Availability depends on the connected server. Tick requests can take time and use considerable storage. These desktop features do not establish a CSV-export feature in the Client Portal, Web Trader or FXTRADING.com App.
Checks before analysis or backtesting
Record the data source, account server, exact instrument name and covered dates. Similar names do not necessarily identify the same instrument or feed.
Check the timezone and whether prices represent the bid, ask or last-traded price. Keep this distinction when comparing a chart with an execution.
Look for gaps and confirm the timeframe. A bar's high and low do not reveal the order in which prices occurred inside that bar.
Include appropriate spread, commission and execution assumptions. Historical data alone does not reproduce live execution or establish what caused a disputed fill.
What if platform history appears incomplete?
Confirm that you are connected to the correct trading account and server, then refresh the instrument history in the platform. If the issue continues, contact our Customer Support Team through the Service Hub and provide the platform, account server, instrument and date range. Support can help troubleshoot platform access but cannot promise a custom historical-data file.
